"Right" way to redirect?

Erin Dalzell February 26, 2015 by Erin Dalzell

My site, at the moment, is just a blog. I want to build it out eventually but it is slow going (life man...always gets in the way).

I'd like to redirect all visitors to the root (https://mysite.com) to the blog (https://mysite.com/blog). I'd rather NOT use .htaccess as it's not as portable and I always forget to look there.

As I understand it, there are two options:

  1. use the _redirect in the front matter on my _content/page.md (though this method is not documented anywhere), or
  2. use the redirect tag.

Pros/cons to each approach?
