Deploying Statamic v3

Kaz van Kooten September 8, 2020 by Kaz van Kooten

I don't know how to deploy Statamic v3 to a live production server. And seeing how that's a pretty essential part of delivering a website for a client, I need help!

I use Apache servers. Never worked with Nginx before, and the hosting provider I use doesn't offer Nginx as an option.

For Statamic v2, I just uploaded files and folders to the server, put the .htaccess-file in the root and it worked.

I tried doing the same with v3 but that gave me an "403 Forbidden!" error.

I then decided to follow a step-by-step guide to deploying Laravel projects:

1 - I installed Composer on my server;

2 - I tried running composer install and got Composer could not find a composer.json file.

I have no experience with Laravel Forge but I don't really want to spend 20 bucks per project per month to keep a website alive.

Hope anyone can help me :-)
