Having trouble installing the CLI

Nigel Dorning January 4, 2021 by Nigel Dorning

I'm looking into Statamic as an alternative to WordPress and wanting to play around with it, but I'm struggling to install the CLI.

I run the following command in PowerShell on Windows,

composer global require statamic/cli

But I get the following results,

Your requirements could not be resolved to an installable set of packages.

  Problem 1
    - Conclusion: don't install statamic/cli 2.0.2
    - Conclusion: don't install statamic/cli 2.0.1
    - Installation request for statamic/cli ^2.0 -> satisfiable by statamic/cli[2.0.0, 2.0.1, 2.0.2].
    - Conclusion: don't install guzzlehttp/guzzle 6.5.2
    - statamic/cli 2.0.0 requires guzzlehttp/guzzle ^6.5.5|^7.0.1 -> satisfiable by guzzlehttp/guzzle[6.5.5, 7.0.1, 7.1.0, 7.1.1, 7.2.0].
    - Can only install one of: guzzlehttp/guzzle[6.5.5, 6.5.2].

    - Installation request for guzzlehttp/guzzle (locked at 6.5.2) -> satisfiable by guzzlehttp/guzzle[6.5.2].

Installation failed, reverting ./composer.json to its original content.

Seem to have installed Laravel and Symfony okay but just can't seem to get this installed.

Thanks for any help.
