Smashing Bugs and Merging PRs 🚀

Screenshot of the GitHub insights tab for the statamic/cms repo showing stats about closed issue, merged PRs, and more

With Duncan on the team now we've be able to really accelerate our efforts on the Core and across the Statamic ecosystem. I mean, look at the bar graph above! That's an actual screenshot and no image generated by AI. Even though I'm sure DuncanGPT Turbo would be able to do that as well. The team here has been smashing lots of bugs, reviewing and merging PRs, and generally making Statamic the best it can possibly be.

A couple of new features made it in as well, like the brand new Group Fieldtype, custom replicator icon directories and the ability to duplicate fields in Blueprint/Fieldset builders, just to name a few. So less copy and pasting in your YAML files. How neat is that? Check out the release notes for the full list of changes.

Thanks Ducan and Team! 👏

Marty Friedel on stage giving a talk about Statamic at Laracon AU in November 2023

Marty Friedel of Mity Digital, one of our certified Partner agencies Down Under, gave a talk about Statamic at Laracon AU 🇦🇺. It should be available on the YouTube channel of Laracon AU in a couple of days. We can't wait to watch it!
Laracon EU is going to take place in Amsterdam 🇳🇱 in early Feburary and Jack, Joshua, and Duncan are going to be there. We really like the idea of doing a Statamic meetup the eveing before the conference starts. Grab some food, have a drink, and chat about Statamic and everything else. Reply to this email if you're interested in attending.
Jay George, long time Statamic community member and freelance developer from the UK 🇬🇧, is planning a Statamic meetup in London the weekend of Feb 24th and 25th. About 10 already booked their hotel. There will be food, drinks, and activities (like minigolf and a guided tour of parts of London by Jay himself). If you're interested, let him know on Discord.
We were planning on giving you more details about Flat Camp EU by now but the contract hasn't been signed yet. Still a few things to figure out. Really hoping to be able to share more details (or even have the ticket sale open) by the next issue of this newsletter. 🤞

The Water Cooler

“@statamic is the Absolute best. I just templated out something that would've taken me longer in another CMS”

“I've said it before, and I'll say it again: @statamic is such a joy to work with. I'm working on one Statamic site now, and I have another queued up after this one. Lot's of Statamic going on this year!”

“I totally agree here. I built 3 sites this year already and have one coming up very soon 💪”

“I love Statamic. Naturally, I spend a lot of time in WordPress since that’s where my audience is. But Statamic is always refreshing to work with. Might redo my site with it in the new year.”

“My best discovery of 2023”

“Try @statamic”

“Just Antlers or Blade is my preference. I worked on one site that had a Vue SPA frontend, but you lose a lot of the magic and simplicity going that route.”

“So, this one time at @LaraconAU, I spoke about @statamic. Including its templating engine. Called Antlers. Good thing that Sam (in the local community) knows I can take a joke too.”

“Only just discovered the 'customers' tab for @statamic marketplace dashboard 🤦🏻‍♂️ thanks 🤩”

“After watching @MartyFriedel at #LaraconAU, I would be giving @statamic a go.”
