Starter's Creek

Starter’s Creek 2.0.0 expands the kit into a fuller publication, with refreshed casual and formal personalities and independent light and dark themes.

What’s new

• Featured homepage, chronological archive, topic directory and listings, About page, and expanded contributor profiles.
• Editable personality strings in Globals, CMS-managed navigation, and compact social icon pickers.
• Sun and moon theme controls with system preference, remembered choices, and cross-tab synchronization.
• Richer Bard styling, captioned images, pull quotes, reading time, and related articles.
• Updated sample writing and dates, plus new notebook and orange typewriter artwork.
• Bundled Alpine 3 alongside Prism, Tailwind CSS 4, and Vite 8.
• Improved search, metadata escaping, optional SEO Pro support, accessible controls, and optional newsletter signup links.

Installation and upgrading

Targets Statamic 6 and PHP 8.3+. Compiled frontend assets are included. Multiple authors require Statamic Pro; user accounts are not included in the kit.

Existing sites should review and merge the new content models, templates, configuration, and AppServiceProvider changes rather than installing over customized files. Original article URLs are preserved. Rebuild the search index after importing content.

Static generation is optional; search still requires a running Statamic application. See the README for setup and customization details.
